What is the Jumpstart Program?
The PDC Jumpstart 2025 Program is a skills assessment that identifies young talent for our elite Pacer Development Centre. Open to confident swimmers born in 2016 or 2017, it’s the first step toward a high-performance water polo pathway. Top scorers may receive 3 months of free training. All participants will be evaluated on technique, timing, and game-readiness — with results published online.
How It Works

(PDC). Top performers may receive up to 3 months of free training, with final
rankings posted on our website.

What to Expect After Signing Up
The Jumpstart Pathway guides your child from swim trial to evaluation and potential selection into our elite program.
Step 1: Free Swim Trial
Your child joins a fun, no-cost swim trial where coaches assess their comfort in the water and basic swimming ability.
Step 2: Evaluation Day
How it works:
Each participant is scored on technique and timing across 5 skill-based swim tests.
• 0 = Cannot perform or major errors
• 1 = Performs with minor mistakes
• 2 = Excellent technique
• +1 bonus = Meets target time
Final scores determine ranking. Top performers may receive 3 months of free training and be invited to join our elite PDC squad.
What We Assess:
50m Freestyle (bonus if under 50s), 50m Breaststroke, 50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly, 25m Breaststroke Kick with Ball (bonus if under 33s). All tests are demonstrated by our athletes before the assessment begins.

Top scorers will be awarded 3 months of free training and fast-tracked into our elite PDC program.
Didn’t make it this round? No worries — your child can still join our regular training programs and reapply when ready. Every participant receives guidance on their next step.

The Pacer Development Centre (PDC) is Singapore’s elite training program for young water polo athletes. It’s designed to develop kids with strong potential in water polo, giving them access to structured training, professional coaching, and competitive opportunities.

Does my child need prior water polo experience?
No! The swim trial is open to all kids who can swim comfortably.
What if my child doesn’t qualify for PDC?
They can still enroll in our Learn-to-Swim program to improve their skills!

Where are the trials held?
Trials take place at Kallang Basin
When my son first joined Water Polo, he was overweight & unfit. After a year, he toughened up tremendously & made many friends. He really loves Water Polo now! Thanks Pacer for transforming him. 😃
